Mahon amongst the Waves…

The XIV Copa Del Rey in Mahon, once again sponsored by Officine Panerai, brought almost 60 classics to the down-to-earth beauty of Menorca. The natural harbour provided the perfect approach to the finish and the swell added to the challenges and splendour for the enthusiastic fleet. The favourites were there including both Moonbeam of Fife and Moonbeam IV who were beaten by their fellow Fife sister Halloween. The S&S‘s were fighting it out in the Vintage Marconi class along with Panerai’s flagship Eilean and of course the lovely (smaller) gaff cutters also present like Marigan, Olympian and Kelpie.

The sailing was epic, if bumpy, and Mahon put on the perfect show once again.
