Wishbone Ketch

Wishbone – also referred to as a ‘Fishbone’ – where a permanent splitting gaff is mounted between two masts. Contrary to the gaff rig (where the gaff is hoisted together with the sail) the gaff stays in the mast. The gaff is typically fixed to the foreword mast and held via a line(or sheet) to the aft mast. This line allows the sail to be trimmed to suit the wind.

Ketch – a two masted sailing vessel with a mainmast and a shorter mizzen mast located forward of the rudder post.
