Originally built for racing by the King of Spain, HRH Don Alfonso XIII.
The hull was restored by Fairlie Restorations in 2005. She was then shipped to Palma De Mallorca for the fitting of her interior and rig by the Astilleros Shipyard. During this time the ‘Hispania Foundation’ went bankrupt only to be saved by the ‘Fundacion Isla Ebusitana’, (www.fundacionislaebusitana.es) a non profit organisation based in Puerto Sherry, Cadiz. It promotes sailing and recovers Spanish naval heritage.
In 2012 she joined her sister ships, Tuiga, Mariska and The Lady Anne for a series of regattas in the Mediterranean.
She continues to race with her fellow 15-Metres for the Class Cup presented in St Tropez (2017).
