Nin is a First International Rule 8-Metre. She has had nine owners over the years who have variously named her ‘Nini’, ‘Patara’, ‘Therese’ and ‘Sirius’. Having started life as a gaff yawl, she has also sported a Bermudan rig for a time.

After she was awarded French “Historic Monument” status in 2010, Nin’s new owner, Yves Laurent from Lyon, sent her for an extensive restoration which involved the naval expert Daniel Charles, designer Nicolas Fauroux and the Gilbert Pasqui shipyard at Villefranche-sur-Mer.

During the 2013 RĂ©gates Royales de Cannes, she had her mast cut clean in two by the 19-Metre Class Mariquita (1911) but repaired shortly after by Pasqui.
