Mariella

Designed by Mylne and built at the Fife yard makes this a rare yacht.

She was restored from 1982-86 at the Cantieri Navali di Porto Cervo, Sardinia, and again in 1992 by McMullen & Wing in Auckland, New Zealand.

Owned for many years by Carlo Falcone she attended has raced in many regattas including Antigua Classic Yacht Regatta in 2003 and again in 2005. She went on to race in the New York Yacht Club ‘Atlantic Challenge’.   Here she raced against another Fife built ketch, Sumurun, and the Gruber designed yawl, Nordwind.   She then went on to compete in the Mediterranean regattas.

Mariella damage

Back in her homeport in Falmouth Harbour, Antigua, she was badly damaged by the 2014 Hurricane Gonzalo and has since been shipped to Cantiere Francesco Del Carlo to undergo repairs.
