While competitors may have hoped for a little more wind the Pendennis Cup maintained its reputation as ‘One to do’ with a maximum of 14 knots on the final days racing. Spectators flocked afloat and to the beach to watch the action in glorious sunshine which all culminated in perfect British fashion with the Red Arrows. The 85′ Andre Hoek Truly Classic ketch Velacarina won overall, and Kelpie of Falmouth beat Mariette, both under the same ownership, by one position in the overall results after a well-fought second on the final day.
