- Waitangi Coming Back From The Mahurangi Classic Yacht Regatta, Auckland, NZ.
Commissioned by a syndicate of Wellington owners that included Winstanley, Georgeson, Jamieson and Kirker, the owners of the old Henry Berg built cutter ‘Xianthe’. The owners were keen to win the 1895 New Zealand First Class Championship held at the Wellington Anniversary Regatta for a prize of £100. Subsequently, with Robert Logan on board, she sailed to victory against the Lyttelton Yachts Mascotte and Pastime.
Waitangi returned from Melbourne to Auckland in 2003 and then Johno Johnson assisted with some restoration work. More at the Website
