“I started sailing on this yacht. My Dad was one of the partners in her from the early 1960s to early 1970s. Originally built for Rodney Hill to compete in the ‘62 fastnet she was sold to Joe Brewer, David Denning and Lawrence Tester and moored at Hollowshore CC in Faversham creek.
I would spend many hours in the shed there every winter whilst work was carried out on weekend mornings with the afternoons spent in the Shipwrights Arms. She got used a lot with three partners. She used to be a gorgeous turquoise blue colour with red antifoul, great to see she still has the orginal wooden mast.
I have some great cine film of her on a cross channel trip to Calais, the club used to run this as an anuual event each Whitsun. She raced cross channel out of Dover and Ramsgate and cruised regularly up the East Coast.”
