Dione

Dione

Originally built by William Fife III for whiskey baron Edwin Teacher Junior, she was later converted to a Bermudan cutter.

1957-1982 – Owned by Joe Avery, Leigh on Sea.
“I was luck enough to do my first offshore race, the Buckley Goblets, with Dione in 1966. I am quite sure Joe didn’t feel he was lucky to have me on board at 14! Lovely boat to sail on.” Marc Rawinsky

Dione raced at Antigua classics from 1994 to 2002.

In 2006 Dione was for sale in Antigua for £ 160,000.

The owner since 2008 has been Hans Albrecht, who also owns Veronique and Nordwind. Dione was given a 100th birthday refit in Argentina.
