Carina II

Brand new,  Carina II won the 1955 TransAtlantic race to Sweden.  She continued picking up silver that summer, and won the Fastnet race.   She competed well in the Bermuda race, went on to win the TransAtlantic race to Spain and the Fastnet again in 1957.  She continued such a record well into the mid 1960’s.

“She was completely refurbished at Summerfields boat yard in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in circa 1982. I personally worked  on the project that was headed by Dan Loftus of Scottsville, New York”, Richard Snyder.

Carina was in Montego bay in Jamaica in 1998. She  sank twice, was refloated remained in salvable condition until she sank again around 2004 and was destroyed.
