Ownership record through Lloyds Register reveals the following:

1936 Register – now an Auxiliary Cutter 5.10 tons, L, b, d unchanged. Ford 4 cylinder petrol motor 1933. Owner E.L. Ransome – home port London.

1947 Register – Owner T.G.M.Snagge Petrol Motor 2Cy.2¾”-3” Watermota

1950 Register- Owner T.G.M.Snagge Petrol Motor 4Cy.57mm.-90mm Morris,48

1953 Register- Owner T.G.M.Snagge

1957 Register- Owner T.G.M.Snagge

1958 Register – Owner T Taylor

So she was owned from 1947 (no register during the war) until 1957 by Geoffrey Snagge, John’s brother.

“Owned and sailed in the solent area  for several years until 1964 by Rod Corbett and kept in Yarmouth Harbour on the Isle Of Wight. She was subsequently owned by John Snagge, the famous BBC commentator, who presented the annual University Boat Race on the boat race”Originally moored in Newtown Creek, Isle of Wight.” Steve Rogers

Bought from John Snagge by the Biddlecombe family.

Up until the mid 1970s she was still rigged as built, with no winches or any labour saving devices.  She was then sold and went to the Baltic.

Detlaf Staats has in fact owned Arvon since 1992 when he was just 21 years old.
 
According to this website – http://www.hansajolle-flyt.de/2013/winterlager2013 – Staats runs his own shipyard, Klassik-Yachts, in Balje, the opposite end of the Kiel canal.
