Sail No. VIII 1, (where VIII stands for 80 sq. m. & 1 is the construction number) for the Seefahrtkreutzer class. 240 were made and around 30 survive of which Alraune is one of the last 3 remaining yachts from the 80 sq. m. class.
In 1928 the new boat made her appearance at Kiel week and won 6 races, skippered by Henry Rasmussen. In the following seasons she won a total of 86 races. She had a refit in 1995 at A. Walsteds Baadevaert in Svendborg. She was previously named ‘Athena’.
