Vertue No. 35. Jack Giles’ partner Humphrey Barton and Kevin O’Riordan took Vertue XXXV on a legendary trip across the Atlantic in 1950 that was to be written up in his Bartons’ famous ‘Westward Crossing’. She was the first Vertue to cross the Atlantic and Humphrey Barton wrote affectionately that the Vertue was the most perfect small ocean going yacht that has ever been built She is now based in Cavallino, near Venice, Italy.
