Scud

Shortlisted for the CLASSIC BOAT AWARDS 2021 – Restored sailing vessel over 40ft.

“Restored by Cantiere Naval dell’Argentario, Designed Nathanael G Herreshoff, Built 1903, LOD 48ft 10in (14.9m), Rig gaff cutter

The Bar Harbor 31s, named after their waterline length like all Herreshoffs, never achieved the fame of some of his other ODs like the NY30s and 40s. Thirteen were built but it’s thought only two survive today (the other being Joker). In their day, they were the smallest of racing yachts, but now, with the big sail area and overhangs, they look slender, beautiful and dangerous. The restoration has been a complete zero to hero job, with no part of the boat untouched.” CLASSIC BOAT
