Melody

Melody – West Solent one design

W-28 previously named ‘Melody A’

New ownership 2021.

“The previous owner of the Melody had the intention to refurbish the boat but did not get around to it. In the beginning of 2021 I took over the Melody and together with a yard owner, also a lover of classic yachts, I started a groundbreaking.

Repairs were carried out, old layers of paint were removed from the underwater hull, deck, mast and boom and repainted. The front half of the interior has also been repainted. The stays, halyards and sheets were completely renewed and a part of the fittings were renewed. After this work, the Melody is technically and visually in good condition and, not unimportantly, ready to sail for the coming years!

More can be done on the Melody, such as bringing back the original skylight and sliding hatch (Berthon drawings are present), new genoa and jib and installing an electric drive.”
