Lys

The Marconi sloop Lys has spent her entire life in the Mediterranean and in 1967 took part in an edition of the Giraglia, the famous offshore race between Corsica and Liguria. In 2009, she underwent major restorations at Antibes which were carried out by shipwright Christophe Jarry.

In 2011, her aluminium mast broke during Les Voiles de Saint Tropez.

Other classic boat events she has attended include Les Régates Royales de Cannes (2014, 2015), the Corsica Classic (2014, 2015) and the Monaco Classic Week (2013). She is owned by illustrious French single-handed yachtsman Philippe Monnet, who has set many sailing records including one round the world, the New York-San Francisco and the Hong Kong– London. Lys has proved herself incredibly fast in light air.
