“I’m the new caretaker of Corio Vertue. She was salvaged after sinking on her mooring and I purchased her from the insurance company in 2018 to save her from being cut up. I’ve since had a friend buy into the responsibility and challenge of caring for this old boat and I’m happy to announce that after 12 months of intermittent remedial works and at times laborious labour she is now back sailing! The dream is to one day sail her from Queenscliff to Davenport as she completed this ocean race many times and even claimed victory in 1965! There is an incredible amount of work that will need to be done on her before this is a possibility though. I’ve recently created an Instagram with the name coriovertue so the journey can be followed there.” Tim Price (30/12/2019)
The new caretakers/owners are: Timothy Price, Kilcunda Vic and Toby Billington, Kilcunda Vic
