‘Astor’ or ‘Ada’ was built for a Sydney surgeon and founder of the Scottish Hospital, Sir Alexander McCormick. He sold her when the Japanese entered Sydney Harbour in 1942.
The Stuart Family were also based in Sydney and owned her until 1959.
She was then sold to Peter Warner who was a keen racer and won three Sydney-Hobart Line Honours in 1961, 63 and 64.
A Dr Adolph owned her from 1964 to 1987 and spent time in the Pacific and around Mexico.
Now restored by Richard and Lani Straman from the Newport Yacht Club in Southern California she has raced at Hamilton Island Race Week (Australia) 2004 and continues to spend a great deal of her time in the Pacific.
