The biggest sailing event in the Ionian Sea returns 5-7 June 2015!

The Corfu Classic Yacht Race 2015 is taking place for the second consecutive year in the beautiful island of Corfu and has now established itself as one of the most important athletic events of the Ionian and Adriatic Sea.

The organizers of the race are the Corfu Sailing Club, who along with the support of the Yacht Club of Greece and the successful team of the Spetses Classic Yacht Race promise to offer some fascinating moments during the races. This year there are three categories at the Corfu Classic Yacht Race (CCYR) 2015: Classic Boats, Spirit of Tradition, and Contemporary Classic Boats. Furthermore, there will be a Traditional Boats and Lateens category, while a number of great historic boats will parade across the waters of the cosmopolitan island of Corfu.

Corfu has a rich historic and cultural past, but also a remarkable naval tradition. The breathtaking scenery of the Old Fortress is the ideal setting for a Classic Boat race. The spectators will have the opportunity to enjoy the unique spectacle at Mandraki and experience the beautiful sights and the exciting nightlife of Corfu.

Furthermore, the 2nd CCYR opens the door to an exciting Greek sailing summer, since it will act as the starting point of the first Circuit of the Classic & Traditional Boats. Upon completion of the race, the participants will embark on a group voyage that aims to uncover all the touristic and cultural treasures of western Greece leading to the popular Spetses Classic Yacht Race (18-21 June). The series will end at the capital of the Cyclades, Syros, 25-27 June!
