Barbara restoration

Barbara has recently arrived in Viareggio to have her restoration completed. The 1923 Charles E Nicholson bermudan yawl has had some work done to her in Malaga over the last years but now under new ownership the plan is to take her back as close as possible to her original design. While carrying out initial inspections of the yacht the project manager, Enrico Zaccagni, has already discovered some hidden surprises that are going to need time and money to correct. However, the end result should be a special one. The main boom is said to be 10 metres long (with 15 metres LOD) with the mainsheet horse seated just aft of the tiller head. This, accompanied by the sail area of the mizzen (tethered to an attractive bumpkin) and the fore triangle  she will boast plenty of cloth to compete in the popular Mediterranean regatta circuit. Looks like she’ll be  completed at the Del Carlo shipyard alongside Mariella for the summer of 2016. More to come…
