Peter Wood, a previous owner to Lelantina, rebuilt the schooner Sunshine in Myanmar Shipyard (Burma). She was taken from a William Fife III design of 1900 whose drawings were found at the Scottish Maritime Museum. This avoided further costs of having to buy the plans from Fairlie Restorations.   Located on the Irawaddy River, Peter built up a local workforce, particularly skilled as carpenters who were able to work the teak.  Under Peter’s day-to-day guidance the project came together and was completed after 4 years in 2004.   The eye-catching schooner was seen racing in the Mediterranean classic-yacht circuit during 2005 against fellow schooners – Altair, Zaca and Lelantina. She is up for immediate sale and in the meantime intends to charter.
