Scimitar is a design from the late 1950’s but was built over 25 years in the backyard of the former Purcell (owners) family home in Geelong. Most of the hull was completed over a 5 year period, the keel, stem and horntimbers all being made from Ironbark that grew in private land in the Anglesea area.
She is part of the Classic Yacht Association of Australia.
