Isabella design
Laurent Giles design No: 0008
Built for General Lubbock.
The L Class is a cruising yacht but with a good turn of speed for the Western Solent racing from the pre royal patronage Lymington Yacht Club. She was conceived purely as deep-bodied and roomy knock-about, intended for day cruising and fishing and with as much room below as reasonably possible in a boat of its size to render her habitable for week-ends if required. The first hull Isabella and hull number four Penguin were built for Brigadier General Lubbock and Col. Bland-Strang respectively.
