Yacht: Branta
Submit Information on this Yacht
One of 14 boats built to a W Starling Burgess design for a New York client. She is one of only two remaining boats from that series and has been in the same ongoing ownership for three generations.
“In the late 1940’s and early 1950s there were 5 of the Burgess/Abeking 10’s in southern California. Branta was one of them with varnished topsides, no engine, and the first boat Olin Stephens went to sea on as a lad (See his autobiography All This and Sailing Too, ). Brought to California by Donald Ayres, later owner of S&S Skylark“. (Valerio Giannini)
In 2015 she was up for sale.
