Misha

The second photo above shows Misha being launched under her original name ‘De Halve Maen’, in April 1937 at the De Vries Shipyard in Aalsmeer, Holland.

Bought by Rob Donald in Antibes, France in 1988 at the age of 22.  He then circumnavigated one and a half times around the world until 1995.   He returned to Australia during 2001-3 where ‘Misha’ still resides today.

Had 2 major refits: One in Sydney 1992/3 and the other in Brooklin Boat Yard, Maine from 1997 – 2000.

Won Antigua Classics in 2001.   Raced at Hamilton Island Race Week (2004). She now (2013) resides on Lake Macquarie, Australia. Here is a link to an article written by Huib De Vries (in Dutch).
