Kerlo was put up as a lottery prize by the Swedish Yacht Club and was won by a person from Scotland. She spent the war years in Leith Docks.
“Kerlo was bought by my late father in law, Wm. “Willie” P. Watson in 1947 and a three page letter, from the previous owner to WPW is attached. Along with a couple of other photos. Interesting to see the main reefed around the boom. Ahead of her time?

“I owned Kerlo for 25 years, and carried out a very extensive restoration over seven years on the Clyde (Not to original, but to the way she is now) including redesigning her rig from sloop to cutter, installing a new engine, then relaunching her in 1993. Sailing her to the north west highlands in 1994.
I sold her in 2010 and she departed my care, in Spring 2011. As you may know, she is now on the Clyde again.
Her sail No of 30C is one of the oldest on the Clyde still afloat, if not the oldest now”, Philip Pendred (ex-owner).
