The newest of the older generation of Howth Seventeen Footers (1898 -1914), there is no recorded owner of Echo until 1919.

The boat joined many of the class in club racing from Dublin Bay Sailing Club in the 1930’s and returned to Howth in 1938.

Construction: Stem and keel of oak and elm, deadwood and frames of oak, planking of yellow pine above the waterline and red pine below, a shelf of pitch pine and a topstrake of teak, larch deck-beams and yellow pine planking and Baltic spruce spars with a keel of cast iron.
